On Friday, two members of the Pin Cushion Pals and 4-H Rascals 4-H Club were judged on cake decorating projects they are bringing to the Auglaize County Fair — which is slated from July 29 to Aug. 4.

July 20, 2012

A newly formed group to support the Wapakoneta Public Library is looking for community input.
The Friends of the Wapakoneta Public Library is sponsoring a contest as it searches for a logo that would be easily recognizable and reflect the mission of the group.
“There has never been a group like this to support Wapakoneta Public Library,” said Barb Harrod, who serves as the group’s president.
But with almost all the other libraries in the county having such “friends” groups, Harrod said the organization of such a group here is long overdue.

July 20, 2012

For nearly two hours, 18 area teams locked horns in the spirit of battle in an attempt to show true athleticism and teamwork.

If they had been trying to exhibit their sport as the next possible addition to Olympic events, the results might not have turned out so well. However, fun for all in the name of charity was the goal, and the annual charity bed races at the 2012 Summer Moon Festival in downtown Wapakoneta were a complete success.
