Georgianna H. Knoch 83, of St. Johns, died at 12:39 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System Emergency Room.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta.
Kathryn G. âKathyâ Welker, 58, of Wapakoneta, died peacefully at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the St. Ritaâs Medical Center, Lima surrounded by her family.
She was born March 23, 1953, in Lima, the daughter of Emmagene (Keller) and William âBillâ Cool. Her mother, Emmagene Kennedy survives in Wapakoneta, and her father is deceased. On March 19, 1983, she married Thomas C. Welker, Sr., and he survives.

After 11 years serving as the Auglaize County administrator, Joe Lenhart officially announced his plans to step down.
Employed with Auglaize County in a variety of capacities since 1983, Lenhart wrote in his resignation letter to the Auglaize County commissioners that âalmost every day has been a joy.â
While he said he appreciates the time spent as county administrator, âthe time has come for me to step back and let someone else have the fun.â
In an effort to create jobs, a U.S. congressman unveiled legislation Wednesday to improve the nationâs infrastructure which would include a $30 million project in Wapakoneta.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown announced his plans to introduce the bill to address the nationâs infrastructure which should help the nationâs communities with critical projects and should help provide jobs for thousands of Americans.

Between Connor Pickens and Aaron Smith, some fillings are going to get rattled.
Wapakonetaâs Pickens and Bathâs Smith will take center stage as the feature backs when the Redskins and the Wildcats square off at 7:30 in a Western Buckeye League football game.
In Week 2 wins, Pickens and Smith combined for 550 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Pickens totalled 267 yards on 33 carries with two touchdowns in a 29-18 win over Elida.

When the professional bowling tour stop kicks off tomorrow, three Wapakoneta bowlers will be in the mix after their results in qualifying tournaments.
The event opens Friday afternoon with a practice session from 2:30 to 4:30 and a Pro-Am tournament at 7.
The tournament begins Saturday with two shifts of bowlers playing eight games apiece. The top 12 scores from the two shifts will advance to the final round robin, which begins Sunday at 10 a.m.
All sessions are open to the public.
A CSX railroad engineer was killed this morning in an accident on the CSX railroad tracks near Taylor Road close to the Auglaize-Shelby County border just off of County Road 25A.
Investigators at the scene were still evaluating evidence as of press time this morning, but Auglaize County Sheriffâs Office Deputy Sheriff Mike Eberle said it appears the engineer of the train was pinned between the engine and a railroad car during a switching operation. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CELINA â An area veterinarian gave a dog at the center of a civil court case a âclean bill of healthâ Tuesday after giving the animal a routine check-up.
Attorneys on both sides of an ownership battle of the dog agreed to allow an inspection of health of the animal and an update of shots at the Celina Animal Hospital.
Craig Miesse, the veterinarian inspecting the dog, determined that the male dog was in good health and was still intact, which maintained a temporary restraining order through Auglaize County Municipal Court against the animal being neutered.
A relentless wind and a relentless barrage of shots by the Bath Wildcats were too much for the Wapakoneta Redskins to overcome as Bath rolled to 5-1 win in a varsity girls soccer match Tuesday at Ryan Field.
A stout 15-mph wind out of the north favored the team attacking the south goal.
In the first half that was Wapak.
But the Redskins could not take advantage and were only able to take a 1-1 tie into halftime thanks to a late goal by Sara Warner.
