Helen Elsass, 91, formerly of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Helen was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Auglaize County, to the late Sophia (Pulfer) and Philip Helmlinger, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Kay Breece, of London, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Merle (Sherrie) Elsass, of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren: Megan Breece, Greg Breece, Erin Elsass, Ashley Elsass, Josh Elsass, and Caitlin Elsass; three great-grandchildren, Hudson, Holden and Jackson; a brother, Harold Helmlinger; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Elsass.
Albert F. Freytag, 87, 2233 St. Rt. 362, Minster, died at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Fort Loramie, to the late Amelia (Boerger) and Albert Freytag. On June 12, 1948, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, he married Marjorie M. â€śMarjâ€ť DeLaet, and she survives in Minster.
Also surviving are four children, Marge Jones, of Loveland, Dr. Thomas R. Freytag, of Wapakoneta, William J. Freytag, of Botkins and Joseph R. Freytag, of Minster.
He was preceded in death by son, Albert F. Freytag.
Wayne L. Binkley, 66, of Merrillville, Ind., passed away peacefully Thursday, March 7,2013, at Methodist Hospital Southlake.
Wayne was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Lima, to Ruby (Kantner) and Don Binkley. On Feb. 21, 1970, he married Patricia nee Halaschak, and she survives.
Rose M. Coil, 89, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Van Wert, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Spencer Township, Allen County, the daughter of Rose M. (Krebs) and Edward Schwinnen, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 19, 1949, she married Carl R. Coil, and he died Feb. 8, 1984.
Kenneth Klor Gossard, 77, of Harrod, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
He was born May 3, 1945, in Wayne Township, Auglaize County, to Pansy Lucinda (Webb) and Charles Ercil Gossard. On June 29, 1957, he married Joan Beery, and she survives in Harrod.
A rare case of tuberculosis (TB) in Auglaize County is being investigated by local health officials to prevent its spread.
A man working at a Wapakoneta business was found to have contracted the disease and tests are being conducted on his co-workers and close personal contacts, Auglaize County Health Commissioner Charlotte Parsons said.
She said earlier this week nurses tested 90 percent of the man’s co-workers.
“We have no results yet,” Parsons said. “All of his family contacts have been tested, also.”
Each polling location in the county is expected to have just one ballot box for the May primary.
Auglaize County Elections Board members discussed the option Wednesday during their regularly scheduled board meeting.
Auglaize County Elections Director Carolyn Campbell suggested they take one ballot box to each polling place except St. Marys.

Jane Ann Hudnall, 50, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Cedar Grove, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 11, 2013, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are her mother, Phyllis Hudnall, of Wapakoneta; a sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Mike Werling, of Wapakoneta; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Timothy and Renda Hudnall, of Ronda, and John Hudnall and his companion Kathy Davis, of Beckley; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hudnall.
She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Chelyan Church of the Nazarene.
