BATH TOWNSHIP — It’s the little things that add up.
An error here. A walk there.
They caught up with the Wapakoneta Redskins on Friday night.
The Redskins didn’t make a lot of mistakes. But the Bath Wildcats pounced on the ones they did for a 5-4 win in a Western Buckeye League varsity baseball game at Bath High School.
Bath took advantage of a lead-off walk in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring two runs to rally from a 4-3 deficit for the win.
The Bath Wildkittens scored early, and they scored often.
Bath quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and continued to pound the ball throughout the game in a 10-0, run rule-shortened win over the Wapakoneta Redskins in a Western Buckeye League varsity softball game Friday at Wapakoneta High School.

The Wapakoneta Redskins rolled to a 5-0 sweep of the Bath Wildcats in a Western Buckeye League varsity boys tennis match Friday at the Rotary Club courts at Wapakoneta High School.
With the win, Wapak is now 4-4 overall and 3-1 in WBL play. Bath is 0-5 and 0-4.
Wapak’s Nic Oen posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jason Lauf in first singles.
In second singles it was Joey Jose cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Nick Cunningham.
Andy Faller completed the singles sweep, besting Garrett Renner 6-2, 6-1 in third singles.
COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio High School Athletic Association will be adding a seventh tournament division in football beginning in 2013, Commissioner Daniel B. Ross has announced. The addition of a seventh division was approved by the OHSAA’s Board of Directors by a 6 to 3 vote during its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday.
LIMA — The Wapakoneta Redskins upped their record to 4-2 on the season with a 4-1 win over the Lima Senior Spartans in a non-league varsity boys tennis match Thursday in Lima.
Wapak players blanked their opponents in three of the four winning matches.
Redskins senior Nic Oen rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Dylan Goodwin in first singles.
In second singles, senior Joey Jose posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Bryan Simpson.
WAYNESFIELD — The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers posted their second varsity softball win of the week with a 4-1 win over the Sidney Lehman Catholic Cavaliers on Thursday at Waynesfield-Goshen High School.
W-G trounced the Upper Scioto Valley Rams 35-7 on Monday.
Against Lehman, the Tigers broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the home half of the fourth inning to claim the win.
Seniors Alyssa Dyer, Logan Badertscher and Jessica Reimesch all reached and scored in the inning.
A northwest wind dropping temperatures to near freezing failed to stop the Wapakoneta Redskins hot bats in a Western Buckeye League game against the Elida Bulldogs.
Junior shortstop Josh Apple paced the Redskins smoking three hits and collecting two RBIs, while junior starting pitcher Johnny Crawford allowed only one frozen rope hit in five innings of a 9-1 victory.
With the win, the Redskins improve to 10-1 overall and 3-0 in the WBL, while Elida drops to 3-9 on the season and 1-2 in league play.

The words “blue moon” come to mind.
But Wapakoneta Redskins seniors Courtney and Ashley Knippen did just that Tuesday night, capping a seven-run second inning as Wapak rolled to a 16-7 win over the Elida Bulldogs at Dorothy Edwards Field.

In first singles, Nic Oen blanked Ardie Sayoto 6-0, 6-0.
Joey Jose posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Christopher Ellison in second singles.
Wapak completed its singles sweep with Andy Faller besting Aric Thompson 6-4, 6-2.
The first-doubles tandem of Rex Azbell and Anthony Kenard whipped Jordan Greeley and Nick Kempton 6-0, 6-1.
The Wapakoneta Redskins’ much-needed break started a couple innings early.
After playing 10 full games and one rain-halted game in the first 13 days of the season, the Redskins deserved it.
Wapak easily dispatched the Kenton Wildcats with a 16-0 five-inning run-rule win in a Western Buckeye League varsity baseball game Thursday at Wapakoneta High School.
