February 3, 2014

KENTON — The Wapakoneta Redskins’ streak of four consecutive Western Buckeye League wrestling titles ended Saturday but they managed to have two league champions — freshman Landon Hall and senior Jarred Carpenter — and eight placers.

Carpenter won his second straight WBL title in the 220-pound weight class, recording three straight pins Saturday in his title-winning performance, including one at 3:49 over Celina’s Kevin Lockwood in the finals.

Hall squeezed out a 5-3 victory in the 182-pound final against Defiance’s Eli Brown.
