The Kenton Wildcats tortured the Wapakoneta Redskins’ secondary Friday in a 52-16 rout in the Western Buckeye League season opener for both teams in varsity football action at Harmon Field.
The Wildcats’ passing attack accounted for 448 yards with six touchdowns by senior quarterback Grant Sherman, who threw for 425 yards passing and all six TDs.
Kenton rolled to a 52-0 advantage through three quarters with its starters in the game.
WAYNESFIELD — It was simply total domination.
The Fort Recovery Indians ran around, through and over the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers in a 54-0 win in a non-league varsity football game Friday.
The game wasn’t even as close as the score may indicate.
After showing some promising areas despite losing 48-3 last week, the Tigers didn’t appear to show anything this time around and appear to be back at square one.
