LIMA — That wasn’t how the Redskins planned to end the season.
Granted, anything short of a State Title is considered a let down when it comes to ending a season.

February 26th
BOWLING GREEN — The goal of four Redskin seniors when the high school wrestling season started was for all of them to qualify for the coveted state wrestling tournament.
The tournament referred to as “State” by most wrestlers is a goal of many but only realized by the top 16 wrestlers in each weight class in the entire state of Ohio.
February 22nd
The lights went down and the pump-up music started to blare over the speakers. In front of a packed crowd at Wapakoneta High School, the starting lineups were announced.
For six Redskins seniors, this would be their last game on their home court.
Jake Buzzard, Alex Greve, Brandon Miller. Travis Bertram, Kyle Gibson and Brandon Erb were about to make their last memories on the hardwood in the Redskin gym.
In swimming, Wapakoneta High School sophomore Josie Miller finished 5th at state in the 50-yard freestyle with a time 24.03.
After one game, Zach bowled a 235, Zerrick Brannan bowled a 166, Chandler Kaeck bowled a 179, Nathan Kaeck bowled a 166, Austin Krites bowled a 173 for a team total of 919.
After the preliminary round of the Ohio state swimming tournament one Wapakoneta Redskin swimmer has made it to day two of competition.
Wapakoneta High School sophomore Josie Miller swam her 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.29 seconds to earn the fifth seed in the event for the Friday finals.
Macie McNichols of Gilmour High School grabbed the top seed in the race with a time of 23.36.
February 21st
Josie Miller, seeded 13th in state swim meet, places 5th in the prelims. She qualifies for state finals Friday. Way to go Josie!
February 20th
SPENCERVILLE — If you were to ask any coach when he wants a player’s best performance of the season, the answer would always be the same.
Tournament time.
For sophomore guard Megan Watt, Tuesday night was her time.
The Wapakoneta Redskins easily defeated cross-county rivals St. Marys in the first round of Sectional play at Spencerville High School. 53-31.
February 18th
BOWLING GREEN — Nine Redskin swimmers have made their mark in the Wapakoneta history books and are heading to the State Meet in Canton, Ohio.
The Girls 200 Free Relay, the Girls 400 Free Relay, the Boys 200 Free Relay and an individual from the Girls 100 and 50 Free, have all qualified for spots at the State Meet.
February 15th
The Shawnee Indians haven't won a game in the Western Buckeye League this season as the Wapakoneta Redskins visited their home floor.
Wapakoneta is looking to secure a fourth place finish in the WBL, while Shawnee is still looking for a WBL win.
