It was a true David versus Goliath story.
While twin sisters Ivy and Morgan Horn fell just short of their goal of bringing home a state girls track Division III champion, they undoubtedly impressed onlookers with a strong performance over the weekend.
The pair guided Waynesfield-Goshen to a runner-up finish by scoring 34 points as the only two qualifiers for the team. The pair knew they had a shot at a title against a strong Versailles team, which had 11 runners competing. Versailles nipped the Tigers for the title with 39 points.

COLUMBUS — It wasn’t supposed to happen this year.
But that didn’t make it any easier when it didn’t.
Conventional wisdom from the beginning was that the junior-laden Wapakoneta Redskins were getting primed at a run for the state baseball title in 2013.
Then 2012 happened.
Defending Division II state champions Columbus St. Francis DeSales handed the Redskins a 3-2 defeat and claimed a repeat state championship Saturday at Huntington Park in Columbus.
