After Wednesday’s 9-6 win over the Sidney Yellow Jackets, the Wapakoneta Redskins are owners of a two-game win streak, one straight in the Western Buckeye League.
Next up for the Redskins? How about the Defiance Bulldogs, owners of a 54-game WBL win streak.
Defiance (11-1 overall, 3-0 WBL) has not lost a WBL varsity baseball game since April 28, 2006. Wapak will try to put an end to that streak at 5 p.m. Friday at Defiance High School.
KENTON — The Wapakoneta Redskins had little trouble with the Kenton Wildcats, rolling to a 5-0 sweep of a Western Buckeye League varsity boys tennis match Wednesday at Kenton.
Wapak won all five matches in two sets each, winning five of the sets 6-0 and five of them 6-1.
Senior Nic Oen dropped Kenton junior Graham Reese 6-1, 6-1 in first singles.
Redskins senior Joey Jose blanked senior Jaden Perkins 6-0, 6-0 in second singles.
In third singles, Wapak senior Andy Faller topped freshman Jake Abbott 6-1, 6-0.
