The methodical Rangers did what they had to and held off the Wapakoneta Redskins for a 38-30 win in a non-league varsity girls basketball game Tuesday night at Wapakoneta High School.
New Knoxville ended its regular season at 17-3. Wapak is 10-9 and has a Western Buckeye League game Thursday at Shawnee remaining.
Perhaps no quarter typified the New Knoxville approach better than the fourth.
WAYNESFIELD — The Indian Lake Lakers used a strong second-half effort to pull away from the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers for a 67-52 win in a non-league varsity boys basketball game Tuesday night at Waynesfield-Goshen High School.
Holding on to a narrow 29-28 lead at the half, Indian Lake outscored the Tigers 16-10 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 45-38.
The Lakers added 22 more points in the fourth quarter while holding W-G to 14.
Tanner Arledge scored 12 of his game-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Lakers.
