HARROD — Wapakoneta’s Courtney Knippen may be sporting a black eye but there is definitely nothing wrong with her shooting eye as she pumped in a game-high 33 points to propel the Redskins past Allen East, 72-40, in a non-league confrontation Tuesday night at Allen East High School.
The Redskins improve to 3-1 overall and Allen East evens its record at 3-3.
Knippen was a scintillating 12-of-14 from the floor and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.
BOTKINS — The Botkins Trojans made a fight of it but came up short at home for the second night in a row.
The New Knoxville Rangers used a strong fourth quarter to put the Trojans away, 50-38, in a varsity girls basketball game Tuesday at Botkins High School.
“It was an ugly game,” Rangers varsity coach Tim Hegemier said. “I was really disappointed in our defense and the offense, but you are going to have those games.”
