ELIDA â The Waynefield-Goshen Tigers hung tough, but could not overcome a strong Ottoville Big Green squad in a Division IV volleyball sectional semifinal Wednesday at Elida High School.
The Big Green (9-11) were taller and deeper and fed a relentless line of power hitters to the front row in a 25-19, 25-11, 25-16 sweep of W-G.
âI think my girls faced up to that rather well,â Tigers coach Karen Dunson said. âThey talked and they moved. We got some plays on the net that I think were really nice. Once they got used to the game, we were picking more stuff in the back.
The Wapakoneta Redskins remain fourth in the latest high school football computer ranking released by the Ohio High School Athletic Association Tuesday afternoon.
Wapak (8-0) trails Trotwood-Madison (8-0), Kings Mills Kings (8-0) and Tipp City Tippecanoe in the Division II, Region 8 points.
Only the top eight teams in points in each region qualify for the playoffs. The top four teams will have a home game for their playoff opener.
