Alverta Holsheiser, 95

Alverta Eileen Holsheiser, 95, a resident of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community and, formerly of Springfield, Ill., died at 1:23 a.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
.She was born April 26, 1917, in Girard, Ill., the daughter of Vega (Shull) and Otis Riffey. On Dec. 10, 1937, she married Charles H. Holsheiser, and he preceded her in death April 7, 1999.
Surviving is a daughter, Carol Lynn Yost, of Celina.

Alice May Bowersock, 73

Alice May Bowersock, 73, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born March 14, 1939, in Duchouquet Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Anna Pearl (Frazier) and Harley Bowersock, who preceded her in death.
Survivors are three sisters, Violet M. Bowersock, of Wapakoneta, Freda A. Bowersock, of Wapakoneta, and Kathryn P. Daugherty, of Kalida; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bowersock, of Wapakoneta, Juanita Bowersock, of Lima, and Barbara Bowersock, of Lima; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Robert S. Nagel, 83, of New Bremen, died at 1:02 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
He was born July 23, 1928, in Minster, the son of Odillia (Schwieterman) and Charles Nagel. On April 7, 1951, he married Donna L. Donnerberg who survives in New Bremen.

Frances Bowling, 73

Frances “Frankie” Bowling, 73, 125 East Bank Road, St. Marys, died at 3:03 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born July 17, 1938, in Wayland, Ky., the daughter of Sarah (Banks) and Roy Lykins. On July 20, 1957, in Rockholds, Ky., she married Frank Bowling, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mike Bowling, of Mendon, and Tim Bowling, of St. Marys; and a daughter, Cindy Gayer, of St. Marys.

Robert S. Nagel, 83, of New Bremen, died at 1:02 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.

Mary Carolyn McKinley, 93, formerly of rural Spencerville, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Hill View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Platte City, Mo.
She was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Logan Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Effie (Peterson) and Philip Grassley. On June 26, 1937, she married William Olin “Bill” McKinley, who died July 30, 1989.
Surviving are a son; Philip M. McKinley, of Platte City, Mo.; and a daughter; Kathleen (Thomas) Hennon, of Spencerville.

Iva Kiser-Dowler, 98

Iva L. Kiser-Dowler, 98, of Cridersville, died at 12:56 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Otterbein-Cridersville.
She was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Duchouquet Township, Auglaize County, to Dorothea (Naumberg) and C. Cal Carter. On May 23, 1936, she married Vernon Lyle Kiser, and he preceded her in death May 9, 1995. On June 13, 1998, she married John Russell Dowler of West Milton, and he preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2000.
