Paul Edward Fisher, 92

Paul Edward Fisher, 92, of Ft. Jennings, died at 11:29 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born on June 16, 1921, in Putnam County, to Albert H. and Genevieve (Mescher) Fisher, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Theresa Fisher in April of 1945, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2010.

He enjoyed livestock, dairy cattle and going to livestock sales. He also loved the Lawrence Welk Show. Paul made his living as a farmer and by hauling livestock. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings.

Dorothy Marie (Oen) Greve, 90

Dorothy Marie (Oen) Greve, 90, of Botkins, passed away at 12:23 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. Dorothy was born on Nov. 21, 1923, to Frank and Wilhelmina (Fisher) Oen on the family farm on Southland Road in Shelby County. Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Julius Greve on Aug. 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2009.

James W. ‘Jim’ Wills, 85

January 7, 2014

James W. “Jim” Wills, 85, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:16 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born on March 27, 1928, in Lima, to James “Pete” and Bessie (Darst) Wills who, preceded him in death.  On Aug. 26, 1965, he married Marlene J. Cox, who survives in Wapakoneta.

Hugh Morris, 80

January 6, 2014

Hugh Morris, 80, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:35 a.m., Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at his residence. He was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Jackson, Ky., the son of John B. & Martha (Raleigh) Morris, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 9, 1954, he married Molly Bernice Fortner, and she survives.

Katheryn L. ‘Kate’ Burgess, 93

Katheryn L. ‘Kate’ Burgess, 93, a resident of Perry Township, crossed over to heaven with her loving children beside her on Jan. 1, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Kate was born on Sept. 25, 1920, in Van Wert, and graduated from Ridge High School. She held a teaching degree from Ohio Northern University and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa. Children and teaching were two of her many passions and she enjoyed 20 rewarding years as a teacher; one year with the Perry School and the remaining 19 years as a teacher at Cridersville Elementary School.

Robert E. Morris, 76

January 3, 2014

Robert E. Morris, 76, of Lakeview, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 30, 2013, at his home while surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on Dec. 16, 1937, in Wapakoneta, to the late Willard C. and Dorothea A. Berry Morris. He married the former Barbara A. Hower on April 29, 1960, in Lakeview, and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2005.

Jennifer Rosemary Lee, 69

Jennifer Rosemary Lee, 69, of rural Huntsville, died at 11:23 a.m. on Tues. Dec. 31, 2013, at her resi-dence. She was born on Oct. 10, 1944, in Bellefontaine; the daughter of Robert E. and Donna (Herren) Elliott, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 31, 1965, she married Murray Gene “Ray” Lee, and he survives.
Other survivors include, three children, Donna Crystal Whetsel, of Bellefontaine, David Lee, of Bellefontaine, Fr. Matthew Lee, of Urbana; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

December 20, 2013

Marcia M. Walls, 79, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:50 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Auglaize Acres. She was born May 14, 1934, in Shelby County, the daughter of Carl & Mary (Rinehart) Rickert, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 13, 1953, she married George J. Walls, and he died Nov. 22, 2005.

Thomas A. “Tom” Taylor, 82

Thomas A. “Tom” Taylor, 82, of Lakeview, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Lima Memorial Hospital while surrounded by his family.
Tom was born on March 13, 1931, in Stokes Twp, Logan Co., to the late Lester B. & Mildred A. Babcock Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a son, Todd Taylor; a daughter, Karen Kindle; a stepson, Greg Worthington; a granddaughter, Kacie Wray, and a brother, Stanley Taylor. In February 1975, he married the former Janet Sanders in Cridersville, and she survives.
