Virginia Mae Treiber, 97, of St. Leonard Community in Centerville, formerly of Wapakoneta, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014.Â
Shirley Ann Richardson, 79, of Knoxville, Tenn., passed away on Jan. 8, 2014, after an extended illness at the Fountainview Center in Atlanta, Ga. Shirley was born on Jan. 6, 1935 to Carl C. and Pauline G. (Lanning) Brading of Wapakoneta, who preceded her in death.
A loving sister, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sally (Roger) Moellenkamp. She is survived by Nancy (Robert) Van Skiver, Becky (Richard) Kohlreiser and Judy (Wayne) Kentner, all from Wapakoneta.
Robert L. Miller, 84, of Lima, died at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Van Wert County Inpatient Hospice. He was born on Jan. 16, 1929, in Lima, to John Lawrence and Pearl Arizona Roberts Miller. He married Betty Jean Myers on Feb. 1, 1947, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 2011.
Mr. Miller had been a parts expeditor for Superior Coach Corporation. He attended Abundant Life Temple and loved gardening.
Thelma Fannon, 97, formerly of 224 N. Cherry St. in St. Marys, died at 8:50 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2014 at Celina Manor in Celina. She was born on Dec. 8, 1916, in Fairfield County, the daughter of W. A. and Edna Blanche (McClure) Steinmetz.
On Nov. 26, 1937, she married James Fannon, who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1973.
Ronald A. Steinke, 75, of Wapakoneta, died at his residence on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Â He was born on Jan. 19, 1938, in Lima, to Isadore and Loretta Schnippel Steinke. Â He married Cornelia M. Rosenbauer on April 28, 1960, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2007.
Mr. Steinke had worked at Koneta Rubber Company and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Â He enjoyed painting, woodworking and spending time with family and neighbors. Â
William H. Brown, 62, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on Aug. 19, 1951, in Lima, to Lewis D. & Helen M. (Ruck) Brown who preceded him in death.
Jerry L. Speckman, 78, of 1119 Robin Road in St. Marys, died at 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 , 2014, at JTDM hospital, with his wife and children at his side. He was born on Nov. 10, 1935, in St. Marys, to Fred J. and Florence B.Â (Langsdon) Speckman. On April 24, 1954, in Wapakoneta, he married Marilyn S. Elsass, who survives.
Ruth Marie Koch Bailey (Mrs. John), 98, formerly of Wapakoneta, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at her home.
Ruth lived most of her life in Ohio, but had moved to Hixson, Tenn. in 2005 at the invitation of her son and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Swartz Bailey. They were married on June 4, 1938. A sister, Lois Koch (Leland) Stroh, also preceded Ruth.
Paul Edward Fisher, 92, of Ft. Jennings, died at 11:29 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born on June 16, 1921, in Putnam County, to Albert H. and Genevieve (Mescher) Fisher, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Theresa Fisher in April of 1945, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2010.
He enjoyed livestock, dairy cattle and going to livestock sales. He also loved the Lawrence Welk Show. Paul made his living as a farmer and by hauling livestock. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings.
Dorothy Marie (Oen) Greve, 90, of Botkins, passed away at 12:23 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima. Dorothy was born on Nov. 21, 1923, to Frank and Wilhelmina (Fisher) Oen on the family farm on Southland Road in Shelby County. Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Julius Greve on Aug. 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2009.
