A. Ruth Rolston, 93, of Waynesfield, went home to be with the Lord at 7:16 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Auglaize Acres Nursing Home. She was born July 19, 1920, in Kossuth, to the late Floyd and Lula Stiles Jacobs. On June 12, 1939, she married Glen H. Rolston, who died Nov. 17, 1982.
Mrs. Rolston was a homemaker and had worked as a process operator with Fisher Cheese. She was a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church. She had a great love for babies, enjoyed walking, reading and picking up seashells.
Clarence U. Barhorst, 79, of Botkins, died at 4:33 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. He was born April 15, 1934, in Minster, the son of August and Mary (Herbert) Barhorst, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 19, 1955, he married Shirley A. Nuss, and she died Nov. 27, 1998.
Mary A. Long, 63, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at her residence.
She was born in Wapakoneta on July 28, 1950, to Theodore and Wanda (Stotts) Kohler.¬† Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include three sisters, Joanne Kohler, Elizabeth (Jeff) Arnold and Margaret (Mike) Schwartz; a sister-in-law, Annie Kohler; six nieces and three nephews; 11 great-nieces and eight great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Kohler, and a sister, Theresa Anderson.
Annamarie Faigle, 100, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:15 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. She was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Dayton, the daughter of Otto and Katharine (Heisler) Keppler, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 7, 1946, she married Henry F. ‚ÄúHank‚ÄĚ Faigle, and he died Oct. 18, 1990.
Survivors include, a daughter, Stephanie Engelhaupt, of Botkins; two grandchildren, Matthew Engelhaupt, of Westerville, and Kendra Engelhaupt, of Nashville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Wayne Engelhaupt.
Robin Emrick, 48 years of age, passed away Feb. 8, 2014, from Parkinsonism, a degenerative brain condition for which, at present, there is no known cause or cure.
Robin was born in Washington, District of Columbia, Oct. 5, 1965. She attended Holy Cross High School in Kennsington, Md. (Class of 1983) and was a graduate of Denison University (Class of 1987). At Denison, Robin was an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and many other campus organizations.
Virginia Kantner, 89, of Wapakoneta died at 12:44 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima. She was born on April 12, 1924 in Shelby County, Ohioto Theodore L. & Eva L. (Barns) Kaufman who preceded her in death.¬† On Aug. 9, 1942 she married Aldo D. Kantner and he passed away on March 13, 1981.
Survivors include two sons; Dennis & Jeffry both of Wapakoneta, a sister Vera Hall of Sidney and a brother Robert Kaufman of Jackson Center.
She was preceded in death by a son Gary Kantner, two sisters Ethel Kempfer and Peg Schmoll and a brother Charles Kaufman.
Carol Dunlap-Reis, 70, of 09138 Burr Oak Road in Wapakoneta, OH died Thursday Feb. 6, 2014, at St. Rita‚Äôs Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born March 4, 1943, in Celina to Hubert Byron and Margaret Alice (Burd) Davenport.
Survivors include:¬†¬† daughter Lisa Byers¬† of St. Marys, daughter Theresa Dunlap¬† of Lima,¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† ¬† son Ed Dunlap¬† of Wapakoneta; 11 grandchildren;¬†¬†¬† 13 great-grandchildren; sister Nina (Howard) Barnhart¬† of Cloverdale.
Paul Adrian Helmlinger, 91, of Botkins, passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. He was born in Shelby County, Ohio to the late Adam Ernest and Anna Louise (Ambos) Helmlinger. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Esta E. (Alexander) Gies; his brother and sister-in-law Kirby A. (Bonnie) Helmlinger; and a nephew Paul F. ‚ÄúFritz‚ÄĚ Gies.
Howard Thompson, 97, died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at his home in rural Roundhead surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 3, 1916, to Martin and Effie (Campbell) Thompson. On April 18, 1936, he married Marjorie L. Austin in Newport, Ky., and she preceeded him in death on Aug. 14, 2007.
Kenneth Ray Deubler, age 62 of Waynesfield, died at 8:45 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at Lima Memorial Hospital. ¬†He was born Aug. 3, 1951 in Allen County, Ohio; the son of the late Ray and Koneta Ream Deubler.
Mr. Deubler had formerly worked at Ford Motor Company and had served in the U. S. Navy. He was a founding member and a lifetime member of the Roundhead Indian Ridge Sporting Clays. He loved his dog Bruno, the outdoors, fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, and the beach.
