Robert M. Davis, 93, of Santa Fe, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, March 3, 2014. He was born on March 14, 1920, in Auglaize County, to the late Raymond R. and Ferrol R. Campbell Davis.

Larry L. Jones, 74

March 5, 2014

Larry L. Jones, 74, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:43 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Lima. He was born on Feb. 13, 1940, in Lima, to Robert D. and Lodema G. Kaufman Jones, who preceded him in death.  He married Rebecca Rhodes on Dec. 26, 1970, and she survives in Wapakoneta.

Mr. Jones had worked for Ford and had served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a member of VFW Post 8445 Wapakoneta and the Local UAW 1219.

Marye Helen (Klima) Grieves, 69

Marye Helen (Klima) Grieves, 69, of 104 Highland Ave., Russia, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at 8:03 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on Feb. 5, 1945, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of the late Frederick and Emma (Hengstler) Klima. On Oct. 13, 1961, she married Roger Grieves, who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2000.

Mary Jane Miller, 59

March 4, 2014

Mary Jane Miller, 59, of Wapakoneta, died at 5:53 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2014, at Kindred Hospital. She was born March 31, 1954, in Lima to Clinton ‘Babe’ and Nellie Armstrong Miller, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a brother James E. (Joyce) Miller, of Wapakoneta; two nieces, Lori (Jeff Wilson) Froning, of Houston, and Aimee (Ron) Wicker, of St. Marys; three great-nieces, Ashley Froning of Minster, Shay Miller, of Houston, and Alyssa Wicker, of St. Marys.

Phyllis C. Elkins, 88

Phyllis C. Elkins, 88, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Plymouth, Ind., died at 10:12 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Auglaize Acres.

She was born May 5, 1925, in Plymouth, Ind., the daughter of Ford I. and Eva (Lackey) Keyser, who preceded her in death. On May 17, 1947, she married Joseph E. Elkins, Sr., and he died Oct. 30, 2013.

Alice Jeannette “A.J.” Wintzer Heckman, 86

Alice Jeannette “A.J.” Wintzer Heckman, 86, of Berea, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. Alice Jeannette was born in Wapakoneta on Dec. 19, 1927, to Edith Link Wintzer and Carl Frederick Wintzer, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Stone Wintzer and her husband, Richard Allen Heckman. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Brian Ray Tidwell, 48

Brian Ray Tidwell, 48, of Sidney, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, after a brief and courageous bout with cancer.  He was born on March 6, 1965, in Sidney, the son of the late Richard and Jean (Funk) Tidwell.

John O. Dysert, 65

John O. Dysert, 65, of 10984 Schroeder Road, Saint Marys, died at 7:07 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at his residence, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 24, 1948, in Celina, the son of James and Rebecca (Rupert) Dysert. He married Cathy K. Shelby on May 24, 1969, in San Diego, Calif., and she survives at the residence.

Frederick Jacob Zint, 84

With the passing of Frederick Jacob Zint, 84, on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, who resided in Wapakoneta, four generations of the Zint name came to an end in Wapakoneta. Born Oct. 3, 1929, in Lima, to Frederick Joseph Zint and Pearl Lillian (Olson) Zint, who at the time were residing at 717 W. Auglaize St., Fred, as he was generally known, was the great-grandson of Joseph Zint (the name was spelled ZUND in the old country) who had emigrated from the Alstatten in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland in 1865 shortly after the end of the Civil War.

Mary L. Niemeyer, 85

Mary L. Niemeyer, 85, of 08816 Washington Pike, Wapakoneta, died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at her residence following a short illness.

She was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Lima, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Fike) Rohr. She married Robert Niemeyer on Nov. 7, 1949, and he survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her four children: Debra (David) McFeely of Fort Loramie, Dale (Barb) Niemeyer of New Knoxville, Dana Niemeyer of Wapakoneta and Darren (Tracy) Niemeyer of Wapakoneta.
