Ross M. McCain, 62, of Lima, passed away at 1:41 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 28, 1951, in Celina, to Nile and Jewell (Maynard) McCain. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Lima.
Emerson L. Kruse, 77, of rural Botkins, died at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, in St. Marys. He was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Shelby County, the son of Edison Henry Louis and Gladys Levada (McCullough) Kruse, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 14, 1955, he married Carol Jean Brautigam as teenagers and they would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this year. She survives at home.
James L. “Jamie” Copus, 50, of Wapakoneta, died at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. He went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 13, 1963, in Lima, the son of Sonja M. (Davis) Copus and Leonard W. Copus. His mother survives in Rockford, Mich. and his father and step-mother, Leonard (Bobbie) Copus, survive in Byrdstown, Tenn. On May 13, 2006, he married Rebecca S. Wireman, and she survives.
Patsy L. Metzger, 82, of Lima, died at 10:54 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health Systems. She was born Feb. 19, 1932, in Jackson Center, the daughter of the late Arley and Helen Zwiebel Gross. On July 2, 1950, she married Luther E. Metzger, Sr. who died April 4, 2011.
Mrs. Metzger was a super sales representative with Avon for about 40 years, which she loved. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lafayette and a former member of the Farm Bureau.
Joan W. (Pronk) Dewyer, of Wapakoneta, died April 9, 2014, at Auglaize Acres. She was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Edgerton, Minn. to Lue and Wilhelmina Pronk, who preceded her in death.Â Also preceding her in death was her oldest daughter, LaLona.Â She is survived by three daughters, Margaret, Wanda and Billie Jean; one son, Ross; four sisters, Alice, Esther, Elsie and Leone; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Thank you to Auglaize Acres Nursing Home for caring for her the last several years. May you now be at peace.
Richard Lyman Gossard, 73, of Wapakoneta, died suddenly at his residence on Monday, May 26, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Walter) Gossard, son, Richard Gossard, Jr., and daughter, Barbara (John) Steger.
Dick was a 1958 graduate of Sidney High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Education degree at Xavier.
O. Evelyn Schaub, 94, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:03 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at The Gardens in Wapakoneta. She was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Allen County, the daughter of Warren and Edith (Hoaglin) Hall, who preceded her in death.
William J. “Bill” Camper, 80, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:35 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Auglaize Acres. He was born Dec. 11, 1933, in Lima, the son of Floyd I. and Alma (Feil) Camper, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 15, 1957, he married Joyce E. Lunceford, and she died Jan. 11, 2012.
Majorie L. Hook, age 90, of Wapakoneta died 2:40 p.m., Saturday, May 24 at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1923 in Douglas Wyo. to the late Henry and Berna Miller DuPertuis. She married William Eugene 'Jake' Hook May 19, 1946 and he preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1975.
Mrs. Hook had worked for the Days Inn, Wapak, self-employed home health care provider, Koneta Rubber and Ohio Decorative Products. She served as a WAVE with the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Community Worship Center.
Mary Lou DuBois, age 87, of Cridersville, died 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at Auglaize Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 14, 1927, in Cridersville to William and Evelyn Umbaugh Crouse. She married Ross E. ‘Gene’ DuBois May 2, 1948 and he survives in Cridersville.
Mary Lou had been a secretary for The Paint Store and was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church. She had been the choir director at the former Calvary United Methodist Church.
