Donald E. King, 84, of Cadillac, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Saginaw VA Medical Center . He was born June 24, 1929, in Fryburg, Ohio, to William and Mary (Bonnoront) King.

Mabel C. Phillips, 75

March 18, 2014

Mabel C. Phillips, 75, of Lima, died at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Lima Manor. She was born May 5, 1938, in Tip Top, Ky., the daughter of Shem and Mary (Caudille) Cole, who preceded her in death. She was married to David Phillips, and he is deceased.

Survivors include a son, Dwayne Roark, Lima; two granddaughters, Andrea Nassilo and Elizabeth Bolka; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Zoey and Cameron; three brothers and one sister.

She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Roark, a grandson, Richard Roark, and six siblings.

Hilda C. Ritter, 89

March 17, 2014

Hilda C. Ritter, 89, of Wapakoneta, died at 7 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014, at Auglaize Acres. She was born March 27, 1924, in Auglaize County, the daughter of William P. and Cora A. (Presar) Ritter, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a sister, Regina Ritter, of Wapakoneta, a sister-in-law, Jean Ritter, of Wapakoneta, a nephew and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Marion and Frederick “Fritz” Ritter.

Thomas H. “Tim” Bault, 78

Thomas H. “Tim” Bault, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima. He was born Nov. 21, 1935, in Lima, the son of John Daniel “Dan” and Elinor Crawford Bault, who preceded him in death. On June 13, 1957, he married Sharlene R. Wallace, and she survivies.

Avelene Louise Metzger, 91

March 13, 2014

Avelene Louise Metzger, 91, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 10:12 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born May 12, 1922, in Waynesfield, the daughter of Harrison Guy and Glenna Irene (Hefner) Gossard, who preceded her in death. On May 2, 1943, she married Amos Howard Wilson, who died in 1944 serving in World War II. Then on May 12, 1948, she married Chester Lee Metzger, and he died April 26, 1991.

Monte L. Anderson, 59

Monte L. Anderson, 59, was called into the presence of the Lord at 9:09 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. Monte was born June 13, 1954, in Celina, to Warren and Betty (Kallmeyer-Fox) Anderson. His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives in Celina.  On Sept. 21, 2002, he married  Diana C. (Wischmeyer) Anderson , who survives in Lima.

Donald L. “Mick” McDermitt, 81, of St. Marys, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital after a long battle with leukemia. He was born Aug. 31, 1932, in New Bremen; the son of Clarence “Shorty” and Cordelia (Quellhorst) McDermitt.

Virginia Ann Uppenkamp, 83

Virginia Ann Uppenkamp, 83, of Botkins, died at 6:32 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima. She was born March 24, 1930, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Carl J. and Laura E. (Wahl) Moell, who preceded her in death. On April 15, 1950, she married Richard James Uppenkamp, and he died July 11, 1977.

Thomas L. Gabel, 82

Thomas L. Gabel, 82, formerly of New Knoxville, died Sunday, March 15, 2014, at Gulfside Regional Hospice in Zephyrhills, Fla. He was born Jan. 9, 1932. in Columbus, Ohio to William Henry and Ruth (McPherson) Gabel. On Jan. 31, 1953, in Washington, D.C., he married Gloria June McHugh, who died Jan. 2, 2000. He later married Ruth Hildreth in 2001, who survives in Columbus.

Kayleen "Kay" J. Wehner, 69

March 11, 2014

Kayleen "Kay" J. Wehner, 69, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014. Born in Kenton, Ohio, Kay worked as a secretary with the YMCA. She was a member of County Line Church of God and had a passion for working with seniors.

Surviving are her husband, John Wehner, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; son, Steve (Colleen) Fry of Uniontown; daughter, Stacie (Jorge) Acevedo, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Norma Fields, of Delphos, and Marjorie (Gerald) Shaw, of Lima; grandsons, Jon and Andy. Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Fields.
