March 22nd
Evon E. Schlenker, 93, a lifelong Wapakoneta resident, died Tuesday evening, March 19, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Freda (Hengstler) and Albert Knatz. On Aug. 5, 1939, she married John H. Schlenker, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2002.

Betty E. Winegardner, 84, of Waynesfield, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Gardens at Wapakoneta.
She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Lima, to Rowena (Barnes) and Robert Wolfe. On May 29, 1948, she married Russell Winegardner, and he preceded her in death Oct. 30, 2007.
Howard C. Wheeler, 90, of Norwalk, died Friday, March 15, 2013, in the Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Auglaize County, to the late Hazel Mae (Reed) and Raymond Franklin Wheeler and came to this area in 1950.
Betty E. Winegardner, 84, of Waynesfield, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Gardens of Wapakoneta.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Waynesfield Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial is to follow at Willowbranch Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield or from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Betty Ann Hunsicker, 76, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Ada, died at 10:02 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home in Wapakoneta.
She was born January 11, 1937, in Floyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late Mary A. (Hackworth) and Grover C. Pruitt. On June 12, 1954, she married Max B. Hunsicker, who survives.
David W. Schaub, 71, of Botkins, died at 5:45 p.m. Thurday, March 14, 2013, at the Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born May 30, 1941, in Botkins, the son of Alvina (Greve) and Franklin Schaub, who preceded him in death.
Mary Susan Mitchell, 92, of rural Lima, died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, in her family homestead farm home in which she was born in Amanda Township, with her family at her side.
She was born July 16, 1920, to Beatrice (Coon) and William McConnell, who are deceased. On March 20, 1940, she married Perry Edward Mitchell, who died April 30, 2008.

David W. Schaub, 71, of Botkins, died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
Mary Susan Mitchell, 92, of rural Lima, died Thursday morning, March 14, 2013, at her daughter’s home west of Lima.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.

Albert F. Freytag, 87, 2233 State Route 362, Minster, died at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Fort Loramie, to the late Amelia (Boerger) and Albert Freytag. On June 12, 1948, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, he married Marjorie M. “Marj” DeLaet, and she survives in Minster.
Also surviving are four children, Marge Jones, of Loveland, Dr. Thomas R. Freytag, of Wapakoneta, William J. Freytag, of Botkins and Joseph R. Freytag, of Minster.
He was preceded in death by son, Albert F. Freytag.
