John J. Truax, 89, of rural Spencerville, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, in Spen-cerville, following a brief illness.
John E. Quellhorst, 64, of Blaine, Minn., passed away suddenly on Oct. 28, 2013.
John was born on July 21, 1949, in Celina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Emily Quellhorst, and a nephew, Mark.
John will be deeply missed by Sharon Quellhorst; his daughter, Stacey Quellhorst; grandchildren, Alayna, Kolten, Kayla and unborn grandson, Liam; great-grandson, Xzavior; brother, Michael (Tanna); niece, Michelle; cousins; and extended family and friends.
Doris Mae Metzger Schneider, formerly of Wapakoneta, passed away on Sunday, Nov 3, 2013, in Maryland. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at St. Stephenâs Lutheran Church with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, Silver Spring, Md.
Frances C. Gehrlich, 97, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. She was born April 23, 1916, in Ottawa, Ohio, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Eberle) Kolhoff, who preceded her in death. On May 30, 1940, she married Edward W. Gehrlich Sr., and he died April 26, 2004.
Roger âBudâ W. Christler, 86, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 8:58 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born in Shelby County on Feb. 21, 1927, to the late Henry C. and Margaret âMaggieâ (Rickert) Christler. On Dec. 26, 1954, he married the former Rosemary Hawkins, and she survives.
Alvin C. Seigel, 63, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in St. Ritaâs Medical Center, Lima. He was born Aug. 18, 1950 in Auglaize County, the son of the late Robert and Bessie Become Seigel. On April 16, 1982, he married Karen S. Naseman, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Mr. Seigel was a farmer and producer. He graduated from Wapakoneta High School and enjoyed taking care of animals, playing cards and visiting with friends.
Shirley M. (Newland) Rasor, 85, died at 6:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Hilty Memorial Home in Pandora, Ohio.
Rasor was born to Bassit and Edna (Rapp) Newland on March 9, 1928 in Waynesfield.
She married Charles âOteâ Rasor on Aug. 30, 1947, and he survives in Cairo. Rasor was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta, class of 1946. She had worked at ExCellO Corporation, retiring after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church. Shirley loved sewing, cooking and traveling, and she was an avid photographer.
Inez Ford Niswonger Bovee, 90, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:07 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at her residence. Inez was born on Sept. 23, 1923, in Cleveland to Kenneth George and Lena (Ford) Niswonger, who preceded her in death. She was also the step-daughter of Isabelle Niswonger, who preceded her in death.
She was also the devoted granddaughter of Margaret Wample Niswonger who resided in Ansonia, Ohio and with whom she spent her early childhood in Ansonia.
On June 12, 1943, she married Lloyd Champlin Bovee, who died in 1992.
Rev. Paul D. McCann, 97, of Wapakoneta, and formerly of West Liberty, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013.
He was born on June 14, 1916 in Farmington, Ill.Â On Oct. 31, 1943, he married the former Helen L. Zaebst in Farmington, Ill., and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2006.Â
Surviving is a daughter, Becky (Tom) Dickinson, of Wapakoneta, a son, Paul McCann Jr., of Bellefontaine, and four grandchildren.
Paul had been a minister since 1948.
Pastor Floyd Lundy will officiate a 10 a.m. graveside service in the Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty on Thursday.
Jon A. Williams, 75, of Cridersville, died at 11:55 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Lima to Frank and Luella Faler Williams.
He married Juanita Naomi Burden Dec. 15, 1962, and she preceded him in death Dec. 19, 2004.
Mr. Williams had been a precision heavy equipment crane operator for Baldwin Lima Hamilton later Clark Equipment, General Dynamics and the Toledo Heavy Equipment Operators Union. Â He had served in the U.S. Air Force.
