Barbara Ann Kowell, 72, of Chesterfield, died Wednesday at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born March 28, 1939, in Lima, the daughter of Eva May Neal and Orval Ambler.
September 8th
Rose M. Chiazza, 86, of Cridersville, died at 3:05 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at the Otterbein Nursing Home in Cridersville.
She was born Sept. 24, 1924, in California, Pa., to Rose (Masaresi) and Philip DiFilippo. On July 2, 1949, she married Samuel L. Chiazza, who died June 27, 2010.
Georgianna H. Knoch 83, of St. Johns, died at 12:39 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System Emergency Room.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta.
Kathryn G. âKathyâ Welker, 58, of Wapakoneta, died peacefully at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the St. Ritaâs Medical Center, Lima surrounded by her family.
She was born March 23, 1953, in Lima, the daughter of Emmagene (Keller) and William âBillâ Cool. Her mother, Emmagene Kennedy survives in Wapakoneta, and her father is deceased. On March 19, 1983, she married Thomas C. Welker, Sr., and he survives.
Kathryn G. âKathyâ Welker, 58, of Wapakoneta, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at St. Ritaâs Medical Center in Lima.

Claude Cass Telles IV, of Defiance, died at 4:48 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at St. Ritaâs Medical Center in Lima.
He was born July 4, 1954, in Lima, the son of Faye Ella (Hissong) and Claude Cass Telles III. His mother survives in Banning, Calif.
On July 4, 1974, he married Pamela Fay Murray who survives in Defiance.
Surviving are two sons, Claude Cass Telles VV, of Archbold, and James Richard Telles, of Defiance.
Services are at 7 p.m. today at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville. Cremation will follow the services.
Iris Ann Burwell, 102, formerly of Wapakoneta, and a longtime resident of the St. Marys Living Center, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at the St. Marys Living Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1909, in Lima, the daughter of Lillian (Burton) and Daniel Armentrout. On May 2, 1927, she married Guy Burwell and he preceded her in death in October 1993.
Surviving are a son, Lowell Burwell, of Liberty, Ind.; a daughter, LaDonna (Paul) Kogge, of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Cole L. Hiestand, 10, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Cincinnati Childrenâs Hospital, following a courageous 15-month battle with aplastic anemia.
He was born Sept. 9, 2000, in Lima, the son of Carrie (Bowman) and Jonathan Hiestand, who survive in Wapakoneta.

Walter N. Miley, 82, of 208 Parkway Drive, St. Marys, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was born March 10, 1929, in Wapakoneta, to Harry S. and Florence (Koehl) Miley.
On Sept. 29, 1951, he married Rita M. Axe and she survives at the residence.
He is survived by a son, Mark Miley of St. Marys; a daughter, Susan (Mickey) Walker of North Judson, Ind.; two brothers, Charles (Grace) Miley of Adrian, Mich.; Harry (Margaret) Miley of St. Marys; sister-in-law, Hazel Miley of Davenport, Iowa; two grandsons, Shawn and Joshua Walker; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanne D. Ballenger, 86, of St. Marys, died Friday, September 2, 2011, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
She was born February 22, 1925, in Akron, the daughter of Charles âPopâ and Pauline (Junkins) Cain
She married Richard Ballenger on July 21, 1946, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2001.
She is survived by her son, Robert Ballenger of Tampa, Fla.
