August 24th
Russell E. “Gene” Jacobs, 93, died at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Wapakoneta Manor.
Arrangements are incomplete at Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield.
Eric W. Evans, 48, of Clover, S.C,. formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Davis Regional Medical Center, from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident Monday morning.
He was born Sept. 29, 1962, in Lima, the son of Virginia (Bogart) and Thomas D. Evans. His mother, Virginia Sockrider survives in Wapakoneta, along with his step-mother, Sandy Evans. His father, Tom Evans and his step-father, James Sockrider are both deceased.
August 23rd
Louis William Doenges, age 91, 8861 Guadalupe Road., New Bremen, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born May 7, 1920, in St. Marys,the son of Marie (Oldiges) and William J. Doenges. On Aug. 19, 1944, in McCartyville, he married Lucille K. Huecker and she died March 2, 2005.
August 22nd
Emily Jean McCune, 79, of rural Mendon, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at the Golden Valley Living Center in St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Catherine S. (Brodbeck) and Merle Shimp. On June 21, 1951, she married Harold W. McCune who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Neal A. McCune, of Mendon; and two daughters, Nancy L. Hartung, of Madison, Ind., and Cathy S. Williams, of Rockford.
Betty E. LaWarre, 90, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Cridersville, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at the Tranquility Haven Care Center in Titusville.
She was born July 26, 1921, in Lima, the daughter of Minerva M. (Eulrich) and William A. Biddinger.
On May 23, 1942, she married Robert W. LaWarre Sr., who died April 24, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Robert W. LaWarre II, of Memphis, Tenn., and Ned LaWarre, of Titusville, Fla.
Preceding her in death was a son, Timothy D. LaWarre; and a daughter, Pennie L. Tone.
August 19th
Steven H. Shrock, 71, of 10805 Celina-Mendon Road, Mendon, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Elwood, Ind., the son of Claudine (Garner) and John Shrock, who preceded him in death.
He married Karen Smith on Feb. 15, 1958, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by three sons, Steven Shrock Jr., of Versailles; Dave Shrock, of Celina; and Scott Schrock, of Mendon.
Richard C. “Dick” Weisenbarger, 79, of 801 Oliver St., St. Marys, and formerly of Van Wert, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Darke County, the son of Mabel (Carmony) and Wilbur Weisenbarger, who preceded him in death.
He married Izez Weadock Ankerman on May 22, 1993, and she survives at the residence.
He also is survived by three children, Kay Jennings, of Arkansas; Kevin Weisenbarger, of Green Cove Spring, Fla.; and Kristin Weisenbarger, of Jonesboro, Tenn.

August 18th
Lois L. Wood, 82, 04893 McKinley Road, St. Marys, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at her residence.
She was born January 5, 1929, in Mendon, the daughter of Mabel (Mutersbaugh) and David Boroff. On May 19, 1948, she married David Wood and he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1997.
She is survived by her five children: Lana Boos, of St. Marys, Michael Wood, of Delaware, Deborah West, of Lima, Pamela McKee, of Springfield, and Teresa (Brad) Pyles, of St. Marys.
Private graveside services are being held at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating.
P. Jeanne McFarland, 78, of St. Marys, died at 1:34 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Logan Co. On Oct. 14, 1968, she married William “Bill” McFarland, and he survives in St. Marys.
Also surviving are two sisters, Barb “Toni” Koch, of Toledo, MaryGene Harman, of Maryland; numerous nieces & nephews, including Teri, Mike, Ryan, and Kim Yahl, and Mike and Tim Harman; a sister-in-law, Susie Thompson; and two brothers-in-law, P.J. Burnett, and John McFarland.
