Verena Nichols, 95

Verena M. Nichols, 95, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 2:33 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Saarah (Wilhelm) and Gideon P. Steiner, who preceded her in death. On April 25, 1948, she married Walter F. Nichols, and he died March 30, 1977.

David Hegemier, 84

David F. Hegemier, 84, 18590 State Route 29, New Knoxville, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1927, in Auglaize County, the son of Esther (Roediger) and August Hegemier. On Nov. 1, 1947, he married Virginia “Ginny” Glass and she survives at the residence.

Richard Houchin, 59

Richard L. “Rich” Houchin, 59, of Lakeview, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born March 17, 1952, in Bellefontaine, the son of the late Jane (Sturm) and Richard J. Houchin. On May 2, 1983, in Greennville, he married Jayne Sacksteder and she survives.

Ronald Burden, 70

Ronald V. Burden, 70, Belle Center, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 20, 1940, in Lima, to Goldie (Thalman) and Edgar Vance Burden. On July 8, 1967, he married Janice Seymour and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jeremey (Jyoti) Burden, of McGuffey; and a daughter, Heather Lynn (Mark) Badertscher, of Belle Center.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Quickstep Pentecostal Church, Pastor Robert Dye officiating. Burial with full military honors by AMVETS Post 1994 Honor Guard will follow at Roundhead Cemetery.
