June 30th
Phyllis Marie Cook, 80, 806 Laurel Drive, St. Marys, died at 11:55 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Wexford County, Mich., the daughter of Lou (Smith) and Harry Deuel. In 1951, she married Everett Goldsmith, who preceded her in death. In 1977, she married Dean Cook who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Goldsmith, of St. Marys, and Dick (Melanie) Goldsmith, of Zanesfield.
June 29th
Marie L. Cordier, 82, formerly of 08361 Burd Road, Celina, died at 7 aa.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Alma (Sandkuhl) and Guy Benzing. On May 24, 1954, in St. Marys, she married Paul F. Cordier who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane (Roger) Young, of Centerville, and Joyce Cordier of Hilliard.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Becky Erb-Strang officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
William G. Holtzhauer, 79. formerly of 1709 Kingsbury Drive, St. Marys, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospice in Lexington, Ky.
He was born Aug. 27, 1931, in St. Marys, the son of Zeitha (Richards) and Charles Holtzhauer. On Jan. 14, 1961, he married Carol Nolan and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Chip (Dianna) Holtzhauer, of Lexington, Ky., and Daniel Holtzhauer, of Findlay; and a daughter, Michelle Mikki (Noel) Livanos, of St. Johns.
Ronald Lewis Moore, 90, died at 3:20 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Logan Acres in Bellefontaine.
He was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Hardin County, the son of Elda A. (Ford) and Harry W. Moore. He married Vivian Spencer, who preceded him in death. In June of 1952, in New Hampshire, he married Elnora Jean Fry and she preceded him in death.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda Jane Moore of New Mexico.
June 28th
Ruth A. Grandstaff, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:51 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, at Auglaize Acres.
She was born on June 12, 1933, in Lima, the daughter of Walter & Bernice (Putman) Brown, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include five children, Deb Osborn, of Wisc., Susan (Bob) Waterman, of Wapakoneta, Mark Grandstaff, of Montezuma, Bruce Grandstaff, of St. Marys, and Van (Robyn) Grandstaff, of Wapakoneta, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Brown, of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, John and Walter Brown.
Samuel Cassius Green, 52, of Wapakoneta, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 5, 1959, in St. Marys, to Berniece R. (Braun) and Murle E. Green. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in Celina. On April 21, 1979, he married Anita M. Steinke who also survives.
John H. (Jack) Schenking, 75, 04300 Buschor Road, Coldwater, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
He was born July 22, 1935, in Montezuma, the son of Esther (Nordenbrock) and Henry Schenking. On June 25, 2005, he married Colleen (Cornell) Schenking who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mark (Michella) Schenking, of Grinnell, Iowa, Daniel Schenking, of St. Marys; and a daughter, Karen (Sean) Gagne, of Kirkland, Wash.

Ronald Lewis Moore, 90, of Lakeview, died at 3:20 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Logan Acres in Bellefontaine.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete are Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield.
J. Gale Lutz, 70, 206 N. Spruce Street, Saint Marys, died at 9:21 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2011, at her residence.
She was born October 20, 1940, in Printer, Kentucky, the daughter of Edythe “Lak“ (Hagans) and Morton “Shikepoke” McGlothen. On Sept. 9, 1960, she married Kenneth Lutz and he survives at the residence.
Also surviving are aa son, Steven (Lori) Lutz of Liberty Twp; and two daughters, Lori Lutz (Partner Sue Cisar) of Marietta, and Kendra Lutz of Greenfield, Ind.
Ronald L. Selby, 73 18132 Townline-Kossuth Road, St. Marys, died at 6:19 p.m. Saturday June 25, 2011 in Wapakoneta, following a brief illness.
He was born Jan.. 14, 1938 in Mercer County, to Lucille (Pummell) and J. Wilson Selby. On Nov. 30, 1955, in St. Marys, he married Marilyn R. Slemmons, who died June 18, 2006.
