The work of an industrial site consultant and realtor is under review by a city-supported business organization to determine if they would recommend renewing the contract for another year.
A Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council (WAEDC) ad-hoc committee is reviewing contract terms between the city of Wapakoneta and CB Richard Ellis, an international real estate firm with 90 industrial brokers and 150 offices throughout the world, before recommending, if any, changes to the one-year contract.

Two âpeople of interestâ have been named in a case involving the drowning of a dog found Saturday at Grand Lake St. Marys.
Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Manager Brian Miller said park officials were notified Saturday by deputies with the Auglaize County Sheriffâs Office that a dog was found submerged in the lake inside a cage near Rustic Haven Campgrounds in St. Marys Township. The dog had drowned.
Law enforcement officials immediately started an investigation which resulted in information obtained up from the cage.
For one Wapakoneta High School junior, the second time was a charm. However, she is hoping the old adage of “third time is a charm” will hold true.
After filling out the application during her sophomore year but not placing, junior Nicole Brown connected the second time around with a third place finish in entrepreneurship at the state level in FFA competition.

A local retiring teacher was once a student in the classroom where she taught.
Elisha Smith, a Wapakoneta Middle School sixth-grade teacher, retired at the end of the school year, and her science and social studies classroom was once her chemistry classroom when she attended high school.
Smith, a 1975 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, attended classes in the former high school in the now middle school building.
A city administrators says he hopes to learn more about state and federal requirements calling for the demolition of structures existing in a flood plain if the structure sustains more than 50 percent damage during an event.

A teacher who started out as a physical education instructor found her passion to be teaching sixth-grade language arts.
Paula Quatman, who recently retired from the Wapakoneta City School District, enjoyed being a sixth-grade teacher at Wapakoneta Middle School.
“I love being a sixth-grade teacher,” Quatman said. “It’s an interesting age. They are eager to learn. They understand humor and are pretty sweet kids.”
Moments after losing the Division II championship game by one run, members of the 2012 Wapakoneta Redskins varsity baseball team had one message — “we will be back.”
Family, friends and fans gathered Sunday at Wapakoneta Redskins Field for the presentation of the season’s trophies and recognition of the accomplishments of the 21 players on the team.
