Drumline continues its dream

March 27, 2014

The Wapakoneta High School Impulse Indoor Drumline will be competing in the Ohio Indoor Performance Association (OIPA) state championship competition this Saturday — a performance the group has been working toward since November.

“It’s a progression,” Impulse Indoor Drumline Director Steve Wimmers said. “We add more to our show as we do other competitions throughout the year to make it better. It gets better and longer as we add different things to improve on it.

“It’s a growing process from November until now.”

Seniors take in Singsation

As a way of helping keep seniors involved in the community, the Auglaize County Council on Aging provides a senior center where the focus is socialization.

Through events like bingo, guest speakers and other forms of entertainment, seniors are able to get out of the house and enjoy some of the things the community has to offer.

Gala spotlights vintage weddings

A Vintage Wedding Gala hosted by Wapakoneta Antique and Specialty Shops (WASS) will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Village Green in Wapakoneta.

WASS President Landa Tomlinson said spring is the best season to host wedding-related retail events.

“Right now is just in time for the summer weddings that are going on,” Tomlinson said. “We’ve had girls coming in the shop with weddings starting in May through August and into the fall.”
