Auglaize Acres gets new chief

Long-time Auglaize Acres employee Kim Sudhoff was officially named administrator of the nursing facility on March 6 after serving one month as interim administrator.

Sudhoff has worked at the facility for eight years, starting out as the payroll clerk and later promoted to business office manager.

Junior Olympian to share his shooting experiences

Originally from St. Marys, 17-year-old, Glenn Zimmerman is a U.S. Junior Olympic Pistol shooter, and he will be making an appearance this Saturday, March 15 at Mike Swaney Buick-GMC to speak with young shooters.

Glenn’s father, Jim, said he hopes this event serves as an outlet for kids who are aspiring shooters to come and learn more and have their questions answered.

Lions Club discusses fundraising efforts

During its semimonthly meeting Tuesday, Wapakoneta Lions Club member Jack Preston announced that the club made $466 from its Bob Evans community fundraiser on March 1.

The Lions Club teamed up with Bob Evans’ restaurants in Wapakoneta and Lima to guarantee that 15 percent of every bill spent at the restaurant that day would be given to the Lions Club when customers presented a voucher during checkout.

Preston said this year’s fundraiser generated the highest amount of money they have ever received in the years they have done it.
