Manufacturers lament worker shortage

Many local manufacturing professionals met for breakfast Wednesday morning to discuss making connections with students, parents, underemployed and unemployed people locally to help fill jobs in the manufacturing field.

In an open floor discussion with United State Representative Jim Jordan, R-Urbana, these leaders  had an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns in hopes of planting a bug in the government’s ear to send some funding help where it can be used.

Students sink their teeth into hygiene

As part of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Wapakoneta Elementary School brought in a dental hygienist to teach second-graders about the importance of oral health.

Dental Hygienist Rita Anderson, who works in Dr. Barry Aab’s Office at Auglaize Dental Associates LLC, spoke to four classrooms of second-graders about what foods they should and shouldn’t eat, how to properly brush their teeth, and took them through the process of a dental appointment.

Strong thunderstorms with up to an inch of rain is possible with these storms.
