Keeping their winning streak alive

For some, obscure knowledge comes naturally. The random facts and figures in your head can be put to good use in trivia tournaments with friends, while sitting at home watching Jeopardy, or by getting involved with a school academic club or team.

Over the past eight years, Wapakoneta High School senior, Austin Klingler, has participated in his school academic team. Starting early, in fifth grade, Klingler considers himself to know a lot of general knowledge topics.

Downtown accomplishments recognized

The Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership discussed its accomplishments of 2013, its goals for 2014 and handed out several awards at its annual meeting and dinner at the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday evening.

“There were so many things to be accomplished and it was all done thanks to fabulous people who spent a lot of time,” DWP President Judie Presar said.

Botkins utility operations update

February 12, 2014

During a regular Botkins village council meeting, Village Administrator Jesse Kent addressed council with a request for a service agreement with Pro-Tech Solutions to install new software for control of water and wastewater services in the village.

“SCADA is nothing more than software in a computer type platform to be able to electronically see, analyze and control your water and wastewater production,” Kent said.

Kent said the program allows for real-time data for water and sewer plants.
