W-G shake up follows Patton resignation

The Waynesfield-Goshen Locals Schools board of education approved Monday in a special meeting the resignation of Ted Patton from his position as the head varsity girls basketball coach of Waynesfield-Goshen High School.

In an interview after the meeting, W-G Superintendent Chris Pfister said, “The only thing I can really say is that there were some internal issues with the program.”

WHS students aim for healthier lifestyles

Wapakoneta High School students are gearing up for a healthy and fit new year with the Redskin Health Challenge.

While setting fitness and diet challenges, students will be working together after school on a weekly basis to meet their goals.

Guidance counselor DeLynn Epperly told interested students that they will be setting individual goals to accomplish throughout the next 10 weeks.

WAYNESFIELD — In an economy that is still recovering from the recession, some are still struggling to get by. For many of these people, the opportunity to save money through a free weekly meal would be a welcome convenience.

This sentiment is shared by Sue Uncapher, who decided to establish the Harvest of Hope, a free weekly meal at Waynesfield United Methodist Church.

Six years ago, Uncapher and another church member got together and decided that they wanted to do something to give back to the community.
