Local hobby shop keeping up with changing market

In an age where online shopping has increasingly challenged retail stores, many businesses are seeing their profits suffer.

But for Dad’s Toy Shop in Wapakoneta, the online marketplace has had little affect on business.

“We have no online sales system because we like being able to be in contact with our customers,” said J.P.

Local churches recall MLK holiday

While students have the day off from school, the Post Office is closed nationwide and many city and government offices are closed, our nation celebrates the birth of a man who led the African-American Civil Rights Movement.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a Baptist pastor who helped organize the 1963 March on Washington where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, is recognized in all parts of our culture, and over the weekend many local parishes decided to incorporate his memory into their services.

ACCA assists senior citizens with tax service

A local organization is offering senior citizens assistance with preparing their tax returns by eliminating costs and stress.

Auglaize County Council on Aging will be partnering with AARP and will help those over the age of 60 fill out their tax returns. Services will be offered in both Wapakoneta and St. Marys.
