Tax levy on ballot

During an emergency meeting Wednesday, Auglaize County Board of Elections members decided by vote to allow a revised tax resolution for the village of Uniopolis to appear on the ballot in November.
Board members decided to grant the village’s request after Auglaize County Prosecuting Attorney Ed Pierce briefly addressed the board on the issue.

BOE creates new retiree fund

Under the advisement of the new treasurer, Wapakoneta City Schools is setting aside general fund money into a special line item for when school district employees retire.

New salary table OK’d

The Wapakoneta City Schools District is operating under a new administrative pay schedule and three hourly supervisors have been shifted to that salary-based schedule.
Wapakoneta City Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a new salary schedule for “other administrators” during Tuesday’s meeting at Wapakoneta High School and moved Maintenance Supervisor Steve Heitz, Transportation Supervisor Dave Tangeman and Food Service Supervisor Lori McKean to the schedule.

U’polis rushes changes to ballot

UNIOPOLIS — Uniopolis Village Council members adopted a resolution accepting changes to ballot language for a 10-mill property tax levy during a special meeting held Tuesday.

Election picture clears in Uniopolis

UNIOPOLIS — The village of Uniopolis has appeared to have dodged at least one crisis as the November general election approaches.
Mayor Greg Ritchie filed his petition Monday with Auglaize County Board of Elections to run for the expiring mayoral seat. He filed shortly before the 4 p.m. deadline.
Ritchie formerly had been a member of the village council and served as its president. Ritchie took over the mayor position in December after Bill Rolston resigned from the post.
