Evac practice

WAYNESFIELD — Students bussed by Waynesfield-Goshen Schools participated in bus evacuation drills on Wednesday and Thursday as part of a state requirement.
W-G Transportation Supervisor Deb Ulrey said the drills must be completed annually as required by the Ohio Department of Education’s School Transportation Division.
“The drills are required once a year and are the responsibility of the bus driver’s to complete,” Ulrey said. “You have to do a front entrance evacuation, a back door evacuation, and a combined.”

Salt bids come in lower

Auglaize County commissioners have made an offer on a house with future plans to level it and turn it into parking for the courthouse.
Commissioner John Bergman said they were contacted by Patricia Werst about purchasing the house at 206 Willipie St., which was left to her by her father.

A former Ohio State Buckeye football player set his sights on the possibility of a good career. Another is a musician who appear destined for the big time.
However, former defensive tackle Joel Penton and pianist Ryan Holliday say they turned away from the road to riches and went down the road less traveled. Today both men are now devout Christians and have dedicated their life to spreading the message of Jesus Christ.
