Power shutdown

The entire city of Wapakoneta is scheduled to be without power on Sunday for two hours.

Wapakoneta Safety-Service Director Bill Rains said American Electric Power (AEP) officials have informed the city they need to shut down the electric grid to make improvements on their system.

Ford honors local worker

A Wapakoneta resident is representing North America, as he was selected as the recipient of a prestigious award from Ford Motor Company.

Ryan Kelly was named “Health and Safety Professional of the Year” for North America.

“It’s a huge honor to even be considered and being selected is very rewarding,” Kelly said.

The world headquarters of Ford Motor Co., in Dearborn, Mich., recently announced the 2012 President’s Health and Safety Awards. These awards honor outstanding achievements at Ford plants worldwide.

License Bureau partnering with local agency to fight hunger

The Auglaize County branch of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles is joining a statewide drive to help end hunger and is partnering with a local agency to make a difference here.

State Registrar Mike Rankin became involved in Operation Feed on a local level in the Columbus area and decided to extend the effort across Ohio.
