Three of four high school graduates returned to Wapakoneta this weekend as the guests of honor as the newest members of the Wapakoneta City Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

Bruce Campbell, Elizabeth Madigan and Jack Earl attended a dinner ceremony Saturday as they were installed as the newest members of the school district’s Hall of Fame. Shawn Flarida could not be in attendance.

Event sees high numbers

After a few years of dwindling attendance, the ninth annual Bowling the Health of It event at Astro Lanes in Wapakoneta had 60 kids sign- up to participate in this year’s event.

The event had only 16 children participate last year, so the higher numbers were welcomed by Wapakoneta Noon Optimists members, who hosted the annual event.

WHS senior plans to attend Capital in fall

As a Wapakoneta High School senior rounds out his last year of high school, he looks forward to college although he will miss one thing the most — home.

Eighteen-year-old Cedric Gegel will be going from a Redskin to a Crusader in the fall as he plans to attend Capital University, in Columbus, to study electronic media and film, with an emphasis in journalism and pre-law.

But this was not where he initially visioned himself going.
