Wrong-way crash

A wrong-way crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at mile marker 110 on I-75 in Wapakoneta.
Donald Andrews, 88, of Wapakoneta, was driving southbound in a northbound lane, which caused a collision with Thomas Iverson, 76, who was driving a northbound vehicle.
Iverson went into the median, and no injuries were reported from him or passengers, who were wearing their seat belts.
Andrews was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for a hand laceration.

Trucks collide on I-75

A multi-vehicle injury accident occurred yesterday afternoon in the southbound lanes of I-75 at milepost 115 in Auglaize County, just North of state Route 67. Officials report injuries as non-life threatening.
The accident, involving four semi tractor trailers, caused stopped traffic along the interstate at 1:33 p.m. and forced Ohio State Highway Patrol to reroute southbound traffic through exit 118.
The accident, caused by trucks following each other too closely, started at the entrance of the construction zone near the Cridersville.

Wapakoneta City Council President Stephen Henderson summed up a 10-minute discussion that stemmed from Mayor Rod Metz’s recent attendance at a state building code public meeting the mayor said was organized by the Wapakoneta Fire Department and engineering department personnel. The discussion was part of Monday’s city council meeting.
