Located halfway around the world, the need for assistance in the Philippines remains at the heart of a local woman.
Meddy Ruck, of Wapakoneta, is raising money to send to her family in the Philippines who were struck by tragedy during Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). Ruck, along with other friends, family members and volunteers are making homemade egg rolls and spring rolls as a fundraiser for her family.
Repayments back to the Auglaize County Board of Commissioners are not reflected at this time in the Dog and Kennel Fund for 2014.
Commissioner Doug Spencer said it would make a big impact to Auglaize County Dog Warden Russ Bailey’s budget when it is added, but for now they are waiting until the project is done to budget payback as they have yet to determine what amount that will be.

Diane Harrod’s daughter, Emily, a first-grader at Wapakoneta Elementary School, had been very sick. At 18 months old she underwent testing and it was discovered she was allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs, and had asthma.
