Molding Ohio

Using their fingers to mold salt clay into hills and flatten it into plains, gave Wapakoneta Elementary School fourth-graders a 3-D look at their home state.
“They can actually see what it looks like,” their social studies teacher Connie Ferenbaugh said.
While students had seen a lot of different representations of Ohio in pictures and books and online, she said this project lets them actually see the state and understand its terrain up close.

‘Side by Side’ affair

Photography and watercolors do not typically coincide in a piece of artwork, however, at Riverside Art Center, the two will be hanging “Side by Side.”
Watercolor painter Barb Sailor, of Jackson Center, and photographer Pamela Baker, of Spencerville, are collaborating in Riverside Art Center’s upcoming exhibit, “Side by Side.”
The two artists met in 2010 via fineartamerica.com, a website where anyone can browse through other artists’ work. 

Visits help justice formulate her rulings
