SIDNEY — A mistake prone freshman game made all the difference in creating the eventual1995 Heisman Trophy winner and a 10,000-yard rusher in the NFL.

But the mistakes in the game did not create the player nor the man whom Eddie George would become, he says — the way he responded to the adversity of that day did.

Blaze destroys trailer, car

A fire at Lakeside Estates trailer park at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday completely destroyed a house trailer and caused damage to another.

The St. Johns Fire Department was called to the scene Saturday and found  the trailer totally engulfed in flames.

St. Johns Fire Chief Rodney Campbell said the house trailer was collapsing by the time firefighters could get to the scene.

The damage to the  house trailer owned by Dian Sekason, Lot 18, is said to be a total loss. A vehicle owned by Sekason also was ruled a total loss.

Investigation may tie break-in to other crimes

A suspect continues to be questioned in connection with a string of burglaries that occurred over the past couple months in the area.
The suspect was tracked down after a recent break-in and has been questioned several times regarding that break-in and other break-ins in the county, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sgt. Jerry Sawmiller told the Wapakoneta Daily News.
