A Wapakoneta woman with concerns regarding the Humane Society of Auglaize County pleaded with Wapakoneta City Council members to visit the facility before approving any funding for the organization.
Lynn Schweitzer, of Wapakoneta, did work at the Humane Society of Auglaize County, often known as ACHS, and told councilors during Monday’s meeting of her concerns for the safety of the animals, workers and volunteers at the facility.
WAYNESFIELD — As hoped and anticipated, preliminary scores for the Ohio Achievement Assessments (OAA) came back with glowing results for the Waynesfield-Goshen School District.
“The preliminary scores show we have made some significant progress,” Waynesfield-Goshen Superintendent Joanne Kerekes said at the meeting.
A digital fire extinguisher training system recently purchased by the Auglaize County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) could be used to help people throughout the county learn how to use an extinguisher to battle a real fire.
Area emergency responders, industries, schools, nursing homes and others could take advantage of the new technology in training to fight fires. Special sessions also are being discussed for citizens interested in learning the proper technique for using fire extinguishers.
