The Auglaize County Relay for Life, which raises money for the fight against cancer, is quickly approaching.
The theme for this yearâ€™s event will be â€śHappy Birthday: A Celebration of Life, Come Celebrate Your Birthday With Us.â€ť The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday with an opening ceremony, followed by a Survivorâ€™s Lap and Survivorâ€™s Dinner. The event is slated to end at noon on Saturday, concluding with closing ceremonies.
â€śWe all have our own reason why we relay,â€ť spokeswoman Tiffany Fullenkamp said. â€śFor me, itâ€™s for my brother.â€ť
With a growing concern regarding the use of â€śbath salts,â€ť legislation is being crafted to ban the synthetic drug from store shelves and to make the use of the cocaine-LSD substitute a criminal offense.
Wapakoneta City Council Health and Safety Committee members recommended city Law Director Dennis Faller to write legislation for the city using an ordinance developed by the city of Mansfield along with verbiage from the stateâ€™s amendment to budget bill banning the substance with additional information from other municipalities.
