Classroom to council chambers: Wapak’s Chad Doll seeks 4th Ward seat

November 1, 2011

The thought of entering public service as an elected official crossed his mind years ago when a Wapakoneta man was in high school and again in college when he was studying political science.
Earlier this year he decided to act on it.
On Nov. 8, Chad Doll should be elected the city’s 4th Ward representative on Wapakoneta City Council. He, like the other six members of council, is running unopposed for the council seat. His post was vacated by Dan Graf, who is running for an at-large seat.

Two seek Goshen fiscal seat

November 1, 2011

WAYNESFIELD — Incumbent Jodi Hennon is facing opposition from Tim Doty for her seat for Goshen Township fiscal officer in the Nov. 8 general election.
Efficiency with duties and with tax dollars was the key for both candidates as the township faces state cuts to its already tiny budget.
Doty, 57, 13245 McBeth Road, Wapakoneta, has lived in the township for 22 years. He and his wife, Kathy, have three grown children. He has not held any elected offices, but
Doty said he has volunteered for township for five years and said that helped him decide to run.

Levy crucial to be passed

November 1, 2011

The Cridersville Village Council president says it is crucial that a renewal levy passes since local government funding from the state is being cut in 2012 for the village.
A 2-mill property tax levy appears on the Nov. 8 general election ballot. This renewal levy helps fund operating expenses paid from the village’s General Fund.
“The local government funding is being cut for the upcoming year,” Cridersville Village Council President Eric West said. “Passing of this levy is quite crucial. It is critical for the village that the levy is passed.”
