Laney holds down Parkway; ‘Skins win 3rd straight

Rob Laney earned a complete game win, as he and the Wapakoneta Redskins won their third straight game Monday in a 3-1 victory over the Parkway Panthers in a non-league varsity baseball game at Wapakoneta High School.

Laney threw 111 pitches in seven innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run. He struck out seven Panthers.

The Redskins tallied 10 hits, as Quinn Lotridge, Nate Kaeck and Maddux Liles each had two.

Health board approves nursing director, sanitarian

The Auglaize County Board of Health accepted the employment of a new nursing director and environmental health sanitarian during its regular board meeting Monday morning.

Mercy Unlimited honors volunteers

Hours of devoted, unselfish volunteer work finally paid off Thursday as Mercy Unlimited held its fourth annual volunteer luncheon at RJ's Coffey Cup.

The luncheon, in honor of the 41st annual National Volunteer Week, gave thanks to all volunteers of Mercy Unlimited, including recognizing the 2015 Volunteer of the Year and runners-up.

New LCC mural a welcoming sign

LIMA – Audrey Stemen spent 37 hours of her spring break painting a mural in the Lima Central Catholic High School building.

And this is something the LCC senior said she has wanted to do since last summer after speaking with LCC President Walter Klimaski, and principal, Kathleen Herpich, about her desire to paint the mural, and they loved the idea.

Wapakoneta Redskins sophomore Allie Zofkie set two school records Wednesday, as she broke the 1,600- and 3,200-meter run marks.

Wapakoneta swept a dual meet against the Shawnee Indians.

Blasia Moyler singled to score Sierra Sammons in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walkoff Wapakoneta win.
