The goal of a book club targeted to high school students has one main purpose â to be fun.
The coordinator of the book club, hosted by the Auglaize County Public District Library and in its third year, says the club âhas been very successful.â
âHigh schoolers are so busy and the book club is something we wanted to start and see what happens,â Auglaize County Public District Library Youth Services Coordinator Beth Steiner said. âSo far, we have had a good turnout and good feedback.â

Dr Aaron Kiefer is currently offering residents a way to help both themselves and others in a unique way.
After months of negotiations failing to result in an agreement, Wapakoneta City Schools Board of Education members approved a resolution declaring its intent to implement its final offer to teachers beginning Jan. 1.
Local residents and businesses have been recognized for outstanding achievements and volunteer service to a nationwide organization.
The Indiana-Ohio Region of American Red Cross Blood Services recently hosted its annual recognition luncheon, with one of the recipients having hit a milestone â by donating 24 gallons of blood in her lifetime.
Wapakoneta resident and the âOutstanding Blood Donor Awardâ winner for Auglaize County, Rita Tebbe, 84, has donated approximately 192 times to date, and has donated 24 gallons of blood, which translates to helping approximately 576 people.
Starting in 2014, Ohio school districts are to be use new state tests of common core curriculum.
The new tests are to be implemented in 45 states and the District of Columbia, but they come with a catch, they must be taken online, replacing the traditional paper and pencil standardized tests Ohio students have been taking.
Patricia R. âPatâ Wagner, 80, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:53 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at St. Ritaâs Medical Center in Lima, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 6. 1930, in Hancock County, the daughter of Treva (Pheneger) and Arthur âEdâ DeLong, who preceded her in death. On July 23, 1950, she married Russell M. âShortyâ Wagner, and he died May 16, 1990.
Franklin R. Rostorfer, 76, of rural Wapakoneta, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 30, 2011, from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Ohio 235, in Logan County.
He was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Clay Township, Auglaize County, the son of Margaret (Cook) and Clifford Rostorfer, who preceded him in death. On March 3, 1962, he married Judy A. Metz, and she survives.
LEWISTOWN â It will be pretty hard for first-year varsity coach Don Mack and the Botkins Trojans girls basketball team not to improve on last yearâs season.
Playing with a new found spark, the Trojans got off to their first 2-0 start in many years with a 47-34 road win over Indian Lake on Tuesday.

FINDLAY â The Wapakoneta Redskins varsity boys and girls swim teams opened their seasons with losses in the season-opening meet Tuesday night at Findlay.
Taylor Law posted three wins for the Redskins girls team in a 108-75 loss to the Trojans.
The Wapak boys suffered a 127-52 defeat.
Law won in the 200 IM, 500 freestyle and the 400 free relay.
Joining Law in the 400 free relay were Josie Miller, Stephanie Kessen and Haley Buchanan. The foursome also finished second in the 200 medley relay.
Miller won the 100 freestyle and took second in the 200 IM.
COLUMBUS (AP) â When Kenton varsity coach Mike Mauk discusses his son Matyâs record-setting career, he mentions the trip to the Ohio championship game this week, an unprecedented for the school four straight Western Buckeye League titles as well as the program mark of 21 consecutive home wins.
Left unsaid was the litany of national passing records that helped make senior quarterback Maty Mauk a unanimous winner of the 25th annual Associated Press Ohio Mr. Football award.
