Kathryn A. McBride, 83, of St. Marys, Ohio died 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at Golden Living Center – Valley in St. Marys. She was born Jan. 29, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio to Hugh and Gertrude (Schneider) Cook.
On Dec. 5, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, OH, she married Perry D. McBride, who survives.
WAYNESFIELD — The Waynesfield Village Council approved a survey to assess the community’s response to a proposal to construct a natural gas pipeline through the village.
At a council meeting Monday night, Orwell Natural Gas Co. representative Giselle Felice proposed a plan that would cost $3.5 million dollars for the first phase of construction on the pipeline. The proposal also required that 75 percent of homeowners in Waynesfield sign up for natural gas before the project can proceed.
Two accidents resulting in serious damages were reported over the weekend in Auglaize County by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Three commercial vehicles were involved in an accident near milepost 108 on I-75 at 9:46 a.m. on Saturday in Pusheta.
Michael Hartopp, 28, of Florida, was driving a Freightliner Cascadia cargo van and traveling 45 mph in a 70 mph zone when William Roache, 62, of Dayton, driving a Freightliner Cascadia cargo van, lost control on the ice covered roadway and slid into Hartopp. Roache was traveling 45 mph in a 70 mph zone.
The new Auglaize County Dog Ward is nearing completion.
Located behind the Auglaize County Sheriff’s building, which is on Dearbaugh Avenue, the dog ward is accessible through the entrance to the Fairgrounds.
Auglaize County Dog Warden, Russ Bailey, said he hopes to be moved in within three weeks.
“We’re getting really close, our hope is within a couple of weeks to be operating here,” he said.
