W-G coach resigns post

Ted Patton has resigned as head varsity girls basketball coach at Waynesfield-Goshen High School.

In a special meeting Monday morning, the school district’s board of education approved Patton’s resignation, which was effective as of Friday.

State duals team tournament to begin Wednesday

Wapakoneta High School will host three Division II, Region 9-B matches Wednesday on the first night of the second annual state dual team tournament.

Two matches will be contested simultaneously starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, as Celina and Benjamin Logan will face off, while host Wapakoneta and Shawnee will meet.

The matches’ two winners will wrestle each other 20 minutes after the conclusion of the last completed match.

Local youth share artistic talents

Color and imagination is the theme for the Children’s Art Show at the Riverside Art Center in downtown Wapakoneta.

Assistant Gallery Director Pam Knoch said the gallery is focused on youth, featuring preschool through seventh grade artists.

“We wanted to do something for the kids,” Knoch said. “There’s a lot of places for the high school students to put their artwork in, but there wasn’t anything for the little kids.”
