Robert âBobâ L. Moyler Jr. 60, of Cridersville passed away at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 surrounded by his family at Lima Memorial Health System after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was born Feb. 8, 1953, to Frances (Van Over) and Robert L. Moyler Sr. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in Wapakoneta. On Dec. 8, 1984, he married Dawn M. Laffin, who survives in Cridersville.
Evelyn I. Oakley, 90, of Jackson Center, passed away at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
She was born, in Jackson Center, on Sept. 20, 1922, to the late Kathryn (Brann) and Walter E. Leininger. She married Emmett E. Oakley 70 years ago on May 15, 1943, and he survives.
Margaret L. Kantner 87, of Wapakoneta, died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at St. Ritaâs Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Lima, to Edith (Hoaglin) and Alvie Warren Hall, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 10, 1943, she married Emmet L. Kantner, and he passed away on July 31, 2003.
La Donna J. Hoel, 79, of Waynesfield, died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at her residence in Waynesfield.
She was born April, 27, 1934, in Preble County, to the late Clara (Hornbeck) and Russell Guenther. On Jan. 20, 1951, in New Paris, she married Kenneth W. Hoel, and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1986.
Gary L. âGizmoâ Gossard Sr., 62, of Celina, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 in St. Rita Hospital in Lima.
Earl Vorhees led a full and varied life. Always curious and with a keen intellect, he loved the journey of exploring new things. His friends half-jokingly called him âthe most interesting man in the world.â Husband, father, thespian, teacher, writer, factory manager, labor organizer, timber-framer, yacht and barn restorationist, skier and sailor â he was passionate about them all.
As workers near the end of phase one of the East Auglaize Street reconstruction project, members of the Wapakoneta City Council Streets and Alleys Committee met Thursday with officials from the city engineerâs office to view the progress.
âWe are pleased with the progress,â said Dan Graf, committee chairman. âThe features included are time-tested and should last a long time. The architectural features that are being used are pleasing to the eye. We couldnât be happier.â
The Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council (WAEDC) hosted attorney Scott Ziance from Columbus on Thursday for a special meeting with the Wapakoneta City Schools Board of Education and members of the Wapakoneta City Council.
