Wilbur Feltz, 84

Wilbur J. Feltz, 84, of St. Henry, died on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born April 8, 1929, in Cassella, to the late Anna (Heinrichs) and Oscar Feltz. On April 18, 1953, he married Alice J. (Schmitt), and she died May 8, 2006.

Mary Neumeier, 91

Mary Louise Neumeier, 91, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, after an extended illness at her Silver Street home with her children encircling her.
Mary’s wish to remain in her home was made possible through the care of her loving sons, Dick and Matt. She was eager to re-join Elmer (died May 14, 2012) with whom she raised 19 children to adulthood.
An infant daughter, Victoria, preceded the couple to heaven on Aug. 14, 1964. Their daughter Rebecca Mosler, who died Sept. 6, 2012, was also there to welcome her mother home.

Loving it all — Wapak WaterPark tops area as best pool

Six years ago, only a small rectangular pool attracted on average approximately 30 patrons daily. Attendance numbers had fallen off from the hundreds that would crowd the pool during the 1950s and 1960s.
On July 4, 2008, the Wapakoneta WaterPark opened with a zero-entry pool, a three-loop water slide and two diving boards into a competition pool and the attendance numbers soared. The numbers climbed higher the next year as a speed slide was added.

Lasting shelter project — local Boy Scout builds shelter house to help park

A Wapakoneta High School sophomore works with a small crew of men Saturday at Breakfast Optimist Park, the former site of Centennial Elementary School, building a shelter house on the north edge of the property.
Dan Reichenbach, 15, who is a Boy Scout with Troop 14 under George Herman, lifts a preconstructed rafter for the roof of his Eagle Scout project. He is building a 16-foot by 24-foot shelter house for the park near playground equipment.

Paul T. ‘Tom’ Connors Sr., 63

Paul T. “Tom” Connors Sr., 63, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
He was born July 23, 1950, in Estil, Ky., the son of Valley (Cooley) and Thomas Burton Connors, who preceded him in death. On April 9, 2010, he married Kathy Wagner, and she survives.
