Each year, the number of competitors for the Run to the Moon continues to grow and this year organizer Amy Kentner says she hopes to attract even more to the one-day event.

Matt Bradley couldnât have done any worse with the Wapakoneta varsity boys basketball program when he took over as head coach. After all, the program had endured an 0-21 record the season before and was dealing with a losing streak of more than 30 games.

A lease between Wapakoneta City Schools and the village of Cridersville for park land should be mutually beneficial, school and village administrators say.
Approximately 7 acres directly south of the new Cridersville Elementary School, on Reichelderfer Road, are being leased to the northern Auglaize County village for $1 for the length of the 99-year contract.
The property is to be used to develop into a nature park, with walking paths.
Investments in school funding in the state’s biennial budget include increases for Wapakoneta City Schools.
In fiscal year 2014, the district is expected to gain an increase of 6.25 percent in state aid and an increase of 10.5 percent in fiscal year 2015, according to estimates from the state budget signed into law by Gov. John Kasich this week.

Powell’s retirement became effective the end of the 2012-13 school year, after 25 years at Botkins. Prior to that, she taught four years in the Waynesfield-Goshen School system and one year in the New Knoxville School system.
